چکیده

In this work we study the problem of secure communication over a fully quantum Gel’fand-Pinsker channel. The best known achievability rate for this channel model in the classical case was proven by Goldfeld, Cuff and Permuter in [1]. We generalize the result of [1]. One key feature of the results obtained in this work is that all the bounds obtained are in terms of error exponent. We obtain our achievability result via the technique of simultaneous pinching. This in turn allows us to show the existence of a simultaneous decoder. Further, to obtain our encoding technique and to prove the security feature of our coding scheme we prove a bivariate classical-quantum channel resolvability lemma and a conditional classical-quantum channel resolvability lemma. As a by product of the achievability result obtained in this work, we also obtain an achievable rate for a fully quantum Gel’fand-Pinsker channel in the absence of Eve. The form of this achievable rate matches with its classical counterpart. The Gel’fand-Pinsker channel model had earlier only been studied for the classical-quantum case and in the case where Alice (the sender) and Bob (the receiver) have shared entanglement between them.

Wiretap and Gelfand-Pinsker Channels Analogy and its Applications

A framework of analogy between wiretap channels (WTCs) and state-dependent point-to-point channels with noncausal encoder channel state information (referred to as Gelfand-Pinker channels (GPCs)) is proposed. A good (reliable and secure) sequence of wiretap codes is shown to induce a good (reliable) sequence of codes for a corresponding GPC. Consequently, the framework enables exploiting existi...

Capacity of the State-Dependent Wiretap Channel: Secure Writing on Dirty Paper

In this paper we consider the State-Dependent Wiretap Channel (SD-WC). As the main idea, we model the SD-WC as a Cognitive Interference Channel (CIC), in which the primary receiver acts as an eavesdropper for the cognitive transmitter’s message. By this point of view, the Channel State Information (CSI) in SD-WC plays the role of the primary user’s message in CIC which can be decoded at the eav...

A Virtual Wiretap Channel for Secure Message Transmission

In the Wyner wiretap channel a sender is connected to a receiver and an eavesdropper through two noisy channels. It has been shown that if the noise in the eavesdropper channel is higher than the receiver’s channel, information theoretically secure communication from Alice to Bob, without requiring a shared key, is possible. The approach is particularly attractive noting the rise of quantum com...

Joint Source-Channel Coding for the Arbitrarily Varying Wyner-Ziv Source and Gel'fand-Pinsker Channel

In this work we characterize the rate-distortion function of a Wyner-Ziv source, depending on an arbitrarily varying state, known non-causally at the encoder. We then consider the problem of joint source-channel coding of this source transmitted over an arbitrarily varying Gel’fand-Pinsker channel, where we assume that one jammer controls both, the source state sequence and the channel state se...

From Quantum to Wireless: A Step Towards Physical-Layer Security

Quantum information theory is widely recognized as an arguably powerful paradigm for physically secure communications. In general, any attack that an eavesdropper, say Eve, perpetrates in order to gain access to messages or keys exchanged by the legitimate parties, say Alice and Bob, will result in disturbances to quantum states that can be detected with overwhelming probability — security is g...
